Episode 4: Simone Roche MBE, Northern Power Women

In this week’s episode I’m chatting to the brilliant Simone Roche, who is the CEO & Founder of Northern Power Women.

Simone started her career in the Royal Navy, and worked for northern institutions like Aintree Racecourse and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, before becoming the director for a campaign supporting women in the hospitality and leisure industry. It was this role that really piqued her passion for accelerating gender equality, which led to her founding Northern Power Women three years ago.

Simone is doing some brilliant and very necessary work with Northern Power Women, and her new project, Northern Power futures, and we chatted about her passion for putting northern talent on a national platform, and why she loves this region so much.

I find Simone’s energy, drive and commitment to making a difference incredibly inspiring, and I’m not the only one - she was awarded an MBE in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to gender equality in the north of England, and just last week she made the 2018 Financial Times Heroes list.

I know you’re all going to love this episode, and if you want to find out more about Simone, Northern Power Women and Northern Power Futures, please check out the show notes for all the relevant links. Enjoy the show.
